Author Visit Story Time

Story Time Information

Welcome to my Author Visit Story Time, a fun and interactive (and safe!) event. My one-hour story time includes a reading of my new book Little Ant & the Epic Battle, followed by several Little Ant games to help bring the story to life. Please note—I will be wearing a mask and keeping a 6-foot distance from the students. My interactive games have been adapted to follow safety recommendations. After my book reading, the children will receive a Little Ant coloring page, along with their pre-ordered, signed books (Class Visit Story Time), or parents can purchase a signed book at that time (Library Story Time). The standard fee for a one-hour story time is $200. Please contact me to discuss your special story time event. See below for more information.

Class Visit Info:

My Class Visit Story Time is roughly an hour long, and works best for children ages 4-6. Also, the ideal group would be a maximum of 30 children. About 2 weeks before the reading, I would drop off pre-order book forms and ask to see the room. I would also ask that you hold onto whatever orders come in. About a week later, I would collect those orders. On the day of the reading, I'd come in early to set up some games. This may require the use of Fun-Tak on the wall. I would then read my new book and play a bunch of Little Ant games with the children. I would hand over the pre-ordered books to the teacher, as well as a coloring page for the class to enjoy.

Library Visit Info:

My Library Visit Story Time is similar to the above. It is roughly an hour long. On the day of the reading, I would come in early to set up some games. This may require the use of Fun-Tak on the wall. I would then read my new book and play a bunch of Little Ant games with the children. After my reading, the parents would have a chance to purchase a signed copy of any one of my Little Ant books, while the children work on their coloring pages.

Story Time Games:

  • I-spy/Scavenger Hunt: Students are invited to find little ants and other fun objects in a paper garden.

  • Make a New Adventure: The children must add different story elements to a background board—to create a new adventure for the little ant.

  • Act Like the Little Ant: This is a crowd favorite. Students have a chance to get up and move their bodies like they have ants in their pants!

  • What's Missing?: Several objects are placed on a table, and when one is taken away, the class must guess what's missing.

  • Guess that Sound: Children must use their listening ears to guess the different sounds they hear.

  • Little Ant Game Show: Students are tested on their general knowledge of the world around them.

  • Follow the Clues: The group must follow different clues to see which character will reach the ice cream first.

* Please Note: At this time, I am only hosting local story times (within 20 miles of Nutley, NJ.) Please contact me to discuss your special story time.
